inally my mind is all set and the blogger in me is emerging from "hibernation". It seems that my past mistakes on Maelstrom are finally just history and nothing else. Nobody has much ill feelings anymore, at least that is my perception. With that behind me I still have to come up with something to blog about which seems to be the issue now. Therefore, it will only be some rants and musings.
Do celebrities irk you? I find them just obnoxious especially the show offs. If politicians are hypocrites for power and money, celebrities are just insecure attention seeking hypocritic freaks. I'm suddenly ranting about celebrities due to the sudden emergence of E!, a celebrity trash channel on Astro. The channel is already irritating to me and what I don't understand is why my family members are hooked to E!.
What I get to hear on this E! is stupid. They have reasons why Tyra Banks or Jennifer Lopez are hot. There is also trash about celebrity boobs. They will tell you how obscene dresses are worn. Earlier this morning there was a segment about Britney's sexed upped adventures. The examples I give may be a bit bias but my assertions that E! is a rubbish channel isn't unfounded.
My view on celebrities are simple. The females are overhyped and overpaid loose women. They go sleeping around and blowing their millions on entertaining themselves. The men are no different. In fact men are worse because they wield all the influence in showbiz. Rappers are gangsters who never respect women. Hugh Hefner have been using women for years. Is hell waiting for him?
A new breed of celebrities are emerging as well. Welcome to the world where celebrities and politicians stand shoulder to shoulder spewing out utter lies and hypocrisy. John Travolta tells people to reduce emissions while he flies around the world in private jets which emit tonnes of carbon dioxide. Sheryl Crow urges people to use one square of toilet paper per bombing trip. Does she do the same? Forget it! These hypocrites must shut their mouths before everyone sees through their emptiness.
~~Celebrities are the left side of a Pharisee, politicians are the right side of a Pharisee. Together they make the represent the Pharisees who personify hypocrisy~~

Deprived
Don't ever mess with lawyers. So what happens when a lawyer and mother asks why do men visit prostitutes and you answer they are sexually deprived?
This is what happened yesterday during Contract Law class. We were discussing about illegal contracts. First people mentioned drugs and pirated DVDs. Then came the inevitable, prostitution entered the fray. We were asked by Ms Cheah: "Is prostitution illegal in Malaysia?" After the obvious answer I added that prostitutes can be legally solicited in Singapore's Geylang district. Then my friend Darshan answered the question about why men see prostitutes. He repeated the words "sexually deprived" thrice while putting on a smile full of sexual excitement. There was a noisy reaction from the class.
Ms Cheah then said prostitutes sometimes come cheap albeit they are the aunties. Chin Han then told us where you can get these old call girls. He mentioned Johor Bahru and behind colleges in Kuala Lumpur. The class stared at him. Someone jokingly accused him of servicing prostitutes. There is saying that seeking prostitutes is a fool's errand because "for a few moments of pleasure, you will suffer your whole life". Anyone fancy syphilis or Aids? Nevertheless, has any one of you heard of of a condom?
Later in the class Darshan got his "just desserts" for his behaviour. In an example of a person lacking capacity to think rationally, "Darshan suddenly seeing his wife in bed with two Bangladeshis" was the example. The whole class exploded into uncontrollable laughter. When Darshan asked: "Why me?" he got Ms Cheah answering: "Sexually deprived, what?" He's face turned red. Continuing her example Ms Cheah said that Darshan violently killed his wife and castrated the two Banglas in a fit of rage. Darshan however got away only having to face jail time for manslaughter. He was rendered temporarily insane anyway!
That was a really good Contract Law class yesterday. The best part was everything nice came towards the end of class.

A Block
The end of lectures for the Legal Skills subject has arrived. From next week onwards I'll be sharpening my communication skills. In class today I was the first student to volunteer.
Two days ago I put my name down for a legal debate competition. Today Suman asked me to join his team which had he as third speaker and Bryan as second speaker. In other words I'm first speaker. Suman is also pretty happy because I'm committed to the debate.
That's about all for today. Here's another song I love. It's called "So Cold" by Breaking Benjamin.

White Worship, Discarded
Yesterday KDU had an Oxford Brookes University Law professor give my class an introductory lecture for Criminal Law. The first thing that caught my attention was that guy spoke with a Scottish accent. Unfortunately his accent became a problem.
He pronounces punished as p-oo-nished but that was not the main problem. Many of my friends have very little exposure to the Scottish accent unlike myself. As a consequence many of my friends could not get many of his words. Brian and Cheng even fell asleep. We people have been watching too many American shows!
Ironically, after his lecture my class gave a full round of applause. Isn't this white worship? Mr Ananth who is a better lecturer than this professor won't get students to clap for him. The Malaysian Lexis Nexis trainers were not given any applause. I'll say we people still carry the legacy of colonisation.
Today my whole class wore court attire (black and white with a coat). We all looked dashing and ready for court battles. This was all for our Legal Skills class. Instead of being given respect we were sent underground. KDU's timetable people just shoved us permanently into one of KDU's lab. This abrupt change of classroom is an insult to Law students! However, we had a consolation. Ms Siti showed us a video of a rapist being whipped by his jailors.
That criminal was a monster. He raped countless women and girls. Even children didn't escape this predator. His just dessert was to be whipped 20 times in one sitting. That video showed him being whipped on the buttocks until it was horribly lacerated. Shockingly, after being being so viciously punished he still could walk. A monster indeed! Ms Siti however was told that the animal collapsed after an hour. He was knocked cold for a day.
After being whipped so many times criminals would have to lie on their back for 50 days unable to walk or sit. Whipping also causes permanent erectile dysfunction. Goodbye to sexual functions for rapists! Adding to that bowel disorder will set in for life. Anyway, to be fair the police won't allow are unconscious convict to be whipped. They must feel the pain. The pain!

Uneventful
Nothing much happened this weekend. I went for a swim that was interfered by rain yesterday. Luckily I managed to beat the rain. My apologies for my writer's block today.
But, let me share my current favoured song. It's very heavy and may sound like noise yet it's these type of songs that fuel my spirit. The song is called Humanoid by Chevelle. The song is basically lashing out about a bad life.

Accident
Today I was a bit sleepy when I entered my Contract Law class. When Ms Chia asked simple contract questions I just couldn't answer. That is just not me. My biggest fumble was signing on the wrong column of the attendance list. Being the first one signing everybody made my mistake. In the end the whole list was ruined and Ms Chia started criticising us. It was when I admitted that the others followed my mistake that the class all burst into laughter. A case of the blind leading the blind!
After class I talked to Mr Ananth (my former Law lecturer). He asked me about class and all. He also praised me for getting 2 'A's for my A Levels. He's expecting me to graduate with Second Upper Honours. Later I asked him whether KDU has ever produced a First Class graduate for University of London's external LLB (UoL LLB). The answer I got was quite shocking. It was laughter and then he said the best KDU has produced are Second Lower graduates. Ouch!
Do not underestimate Mr Ananth people. One of his student Karen Foong got the best in the world for Cambridge A Level Law who was under him in KDU. Sadly Karen is no longer studying in KDU but instead is doing Taylor's College's Law Twinning Degree. KDU lost a good student because they were too stingy to give her a full scholarship. Isn't KDU asinine? Then there is also Yeng Kai who is now a King's Scholar studying in King's College for almost perfectly acing (Best In The World) his UoL LLB first year papers. Lastly we have Juliana who is a Cavendish Scholar for almost perfectly acing (Best In The World) her UoL LLB second year papers. Yeng Kai and Juliana were privately tutored by Mr Ananth. This year Mr Ananth will be expecting a First Class graduate. With 30 years experience and three perfect students under his belt, there is absolutely no doubt Mr Ananth is the best Law lecturer in town. You can get Mr Ananth number from me.

Incoherent
Do not bomb yourself by being too picky about meals! At least that's what happened to me.
After that "incident" yesterday I was still happy but I realised that I have lost blogging direction. That was made worse by my wheelchair which gave electronic trouble. Moving up slopes immediately switches off the motors. It was one of those rare days where I failed to update RANDTS. That wasn't a good sign because my usual optimism was sapped. When that happens my day becomes very robotic, I do my usual activities but the day feels like a drag.
Nevertheless, my day wasn't that bad. During my Constitutional Law lecture I proved to be an overzealous student. First it was a barrage of questions. Of course after asking too many question about the basis of all Laws Ms Savita started asking my questions which I had to answer. At the end of the class I questioned hypothetically what was the control if Parliament decides to abolish democracy. The class was then told to ponder about the Iraqis and Saddam Hussein (he's in Hell now). Finally as bonus homework thanks to me, the class was told to look up about all the different kinds of governments e.g. Communism, Capitalism etc.
Nothing much happened that day except that I was told of two crime experiences which are further elaborated here on RANDTS.

Second Of The Second
Today has been a weird day.
First I went for a Lexis Nexis workshop for my legal skills class. Lexis Nexis is actually a cut throat premium and extensive academic database. You would have to pay US $ 500 a month for an individual account. Instead of paying this company the money, it should be donated to aid organisations. The only redeeming fact about this ridiculous service is its database is almost perfect. But even its search method is clanky! We KDU students are lucky because Lexis Nexis is accessible through the college intranet i.e. library computers, stuff computers and the computer lab. Strangely enough the Wi-fi in KDU is not considered part of the intranet.
Nevertheless, our luck ends there. Normally education institutes give passwords for Lexis Nexis to students. Here nobody can access Lexis Nexis from home or even in KDU's hostel. Does anyone speculate someone cutting corners here? To add insult to injury KDU's intranet only allows us to web crawl. Therefore, Lexis Nexis is not for me unless I'm desperate. I'll just say good morning to University of London online library. External LLB takers like me will be given a box of four books, four study packs (relatively thin books) and an account for the online library when we are confirmed to be students this year.
Other than that My FM cruisers jammed the main entrance of KDU when I was waiting for my mother. These people think they are royalty I suspect. Anyway why do radio cruisers need to be SUVs like the Ford Everest? Won't a Kelisa be sufficient? What a nice way to become like the Americans slowly roasting everyone via excessive carbon emissions.
My friend/classmate Darshan also told me a something rather shocking. I asked him whether he ever comes online to chat. He said, "I will not in a very long time." When I further jabbed him with questions he spilled the beans. Two months ago his telephone bill came to a whopping total of RM 400. He suspected sometime before his telephone had been diverted. On certain days he could hear the telephone ringing but there was nothing to be heard. Sometimes he could hear the faint speech of Africans. The day he got the bill was the day he severed his phone line as his complaints about the redirection of his phone line fell on deaf ears. Darshan will be switching to Maxis broadband soon.
As for my life I'm always happy. Remember that as long as you don't face severe problems you must be happy and optimistic. Always be thankful to God for whatever you have.

Friends Forever

From left, Sukanya, Suga and Albert (SSA).
Those two girls are what you call good friends. In this world acquaintances come by the "thousands" but friends are hard to come by. We must cherish our friends as they are one of the best things in life. Do not make enemies as they will really hurt. It doesn't matter what your view of the world is just value your friends.

Closure
Finally I have met all my lecturers. Ms Chan will be my Contract Law lecturer. She's really frank about reality but is funny at the same time. Her comment that JJ would get gang-raped if he's arrested made us laugh so much. She made my class really introduce themselves. Not as like my name, my highest qualification and my hometown. It was like tell me about yourself until I can ask you about yourself. We had a fun time. Nurul orated her promise to defend women's rights with much passion. Like a naturally born lawyer, Ms Chan quickly countered Nurul with by saying that husband abuse was equally bad too*grin* Finally I gave the last intro, where my intro was given a full round of applause.*smile*
It was an uneventful day otherwise. Other than the fact I chatted online with Benjamin Galvin, a 22 year old Aussie man who suffers from my disease after a long silence. It was last year in KDU where I met his father , Dr Galvin. As my responsibility to move RANDTS forward I also put up a voluntary quota of 2 posts a week.
That's all for now.

Impressions
Yesterday's Impression
Yesterday I was surprised but not shocked that the general knowledge of my classmates is so shallow. Ms Savita my Constitutional Law lecturer asked my class what was 10 Downing Street, the Dewan Rakyat, Amnesty International, The Home Office and Transparency International. None of my classmates could or wanted to answer those questions. I knew all the answers so I answered them. Only my answer for the Home Office question was not very accurate as I said that British ministry only dealt with immigration.
For those still dumbfounded, 10 Downing Street is Tony Blair's official residence. The Dewan Rakyat is Malaysia's equivalent of the British House of Commons. Amnesty International is an international human rights NGO. Lastly, Transparency International is an international corruption watchdog that produces a ranked list of the cleanest and most corrupt countries. Unfortunately even though our PM promised to stem out corruption, Malaysia is becoming more and more corrupt every year according to the list.
I also started to see more potential "friends". There were these boys from Kota Kinabalu, Jovan, Ken and Matthew who finally introduced themselves to me. I got to know Nurul (exceptionally tall with a husky voice) and Cheng (bubbly girl) better. Altogether yesterday I acquired phone numbers and MSN IDs from Darshan, Hambikha, Nurul and Cheng. Sunam also finally chatted with me online.
Other than that it seems that Ms Savita really sapped our energy as we we seemed half dead for the next even though she only lectured for 30 minutes. That may not explain it all as in the next class (Criminal Law) Ms Meera scared us when she said Criminal Law is very hard and straight 'A's (First Class) for the first year of Law is impossible while lecturing about our books. It was like she asked questions but everyone was silent. Besides that her class was actually quite informative as we were told about our books. According to her the best place to get Law Books is the Universiti Malaya Co-op. She also drilled into our heads that using too many books for Law is futile as we have no time and reading outdated books is a fool's errand as it's a one way ticket to failing.
Today's Impression
It was a rather boring day in KDU. The quirky Ms Siti showed me today that her jokes were unfunny and at times weird. There was even a loud discussion between Ms Siti and my class rep, Ashwin about whether quoting an oral story from a friend without citation is plagiarisms. It was like nobody understood each other so the discussion became a merry-go-round of rephrased questions.
Other than that I have a pictorial story of an elder cripple (hopefully he's not insulted) getting into KDU SQ (formerly just known as the cafeteria).
KDU SQ
Elder cripple eating with his wife.
Elder cripple only reached the end of this ramp without "heavy duty" help.
Elder Cripple was carried down these stairs.

New Beginning
My undergraduate Law course kicked off on Monday. Finally I have stepped into the university world albeit still stuck in KDU. I won't be going overseas as it could prove fatal. Australia has a chilly winter. America/Canada has a freezing winter. Britain will freeze me too. Winter usually means pneumonia for people like me. I'm so lucky to be born in a relatively calm tropical country.
As for my lecturers I can't say much yet. The lady lecturing the English Legal System, Ms Qua is quite good looking and attractive. Her lecturing style is pretty decent. Ms Siti my Legal Skill lecturer has a quirky yo-yo lecturing style. She changes her voice, tone and style all the time. As for Criminal Law I have Ms Meera a lady with 18 years teaching experiences. Should call all of them 'teacher'?*laugh*
I met some new "friends" too. Will they be real friends or mere hullo and bye friends? At least one of them is showing that he can become a good friend. He's name is Sunam. You may wonder why I never really mentioned any Chinese. The reason may be that I'm a banana. My mother tongue is English. People can say I'm a big disgrace to my culture. Will this change?

Free As A Bird
With my 4 month holiday coming to a close the day after tomorrow I feel that the days of finding something to do coming to a close. Regardless of that I feel that my days of being very free is not exactly going to come to a close. Besides studying it seems my old routine of blogging actively isn't going to come to a close. It's actually rather ironic that my passion for blogging is now forever lit while some of my fellow blogmates on RANDTS caught writer's block and may lose their passion soon. *sulk*
RANDTS has brought out the budding lawyer in me.*smile* I have changed from a gaming potato (played World of Warcraft like an addict) into someone who has finally realised the power of blogging. *smirk*Finally the next level has taken over my soul. For the first two months of my holidays I was wasting my time with computer games. All this changed right before the Chinese New Year. I was invited to RANDTS by Henry and stmaverick. From then on my life changed forever. Suddenly I became an active blogger especially on RANDTS. I posted at least twice a day while ignoring this blog for some time. Then Henry, my RANDTS co-blogger struck me with the words 'blogging is about passion not about readership'. That's when I reignited Maelstrom and suddenly we have a more lively blog not something deep in cold storage. *cough* Maelstrom and RANDTS will now burn for a thousand years thanks to the change in me.*raised arms with index finger pointing up*
Here are the transformations in my life thanks to RANDTS:
- My communication skills changed for the better especially after the founding members of RANDTS visited me. Thanks stmaverick, Henry, Joe and not forgetting huiwen7 (non-founding member)
- I realised no matter what blogging has a higher purpose.
- After such a long time being a disabled I have finally made a big difference in quite a number of my friends.
- Despite being a disabled student, my study life isn't so bad after all. Strangely enough I used to think my study life was quite hard.
- I seemed to have developed a motto for myself which is 'multum in parvo'. It means much in little. Despite being a disabled person I realise I can achieve a lot and maybe make a difference in the world.
- I'm finally able to express my knowledge about current issues and affairs much more easily than before.

Introduction to Happy Tree Friends
Those who like cute animals should watch Happy Tree Friends. The show is not suitable for small children or big babies. Unlike other animal cartoons, the show isn't cheesy as it features gruesome deaths of the friends. I find their deaths awe inspiring. It's also ironic that mundane acts can spell horribly bloody deaths among the friends. The friends also never talk, they mumble in some cute gibberish. Among my favourite characters are Sniffles, Flippy and Buddhist Monkey.
Sniffles is an anteater with very high IQ. He loves to solve math problems and eat ants. Nevertheless, the ants will refuse to be eaten, killing him in the most sadistic way possible. Usually they cause him extreme pain and later blow him up. I love to see him die.
Flippy is a Vietnam vet bear. This bear suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Portrayed as always wearing his Battle Dress Uniform with dog tags and green beret with checkered crest. He's a very dangerous character especially when something reminds him of war. When reminded he goes insane and kills everyone horribly with a bowie knife. His killings are awesome.
Buddhist Monkey is a monkey Zen monk. He loves his Zen garden to bits. However, there are these ninjas who try to kill his beloved plants. Buddhist monkey won't stand his garden being desecrated. He will use his power to kill them. Ironically, the monkey uses more chi to revive his plants than kill the ninja.
Aren't the Happy Tree Friends cute? Watch Happy Tree Friends via streaming video here or buy a DVD off the same site.

11 Reasons Law is my choice
Tomorrow I the comrade will be starting my external University of London Law degree course. Today I lay down my reasons. Why am I reading Law?
- As a disabled with a "crippled" body, arms and legs I cannot pursue many careers. Being a lawyer arguing in court and helping the weak seemed to be the most appealing among all my other choices (they are heavily restricted due to my very weak arms) e.g. web design.
- I love to argue. My voice may be weak and I at times speak incoherently but those are just setbacks in life. My dream one day is to totally blow an legal adversary away.
- Reading law will give me the legal mind that will definitely improve my writing skill. This legal mind could also help me raise awareness about issues.
- Keeping abreast "all the law" will aid me in using the rule of the Law to help the discriminated and fight for more just laws and suggest proper and just amendments.
- A career in Law will earn me good money (hopefully) to maintain myself so that my parents may work less or retire for good (I'm expensive).
- With my legal and activism skills I would be able to explode the blogosphere with my passion of activism.
- Latin words are abound in the legal world. Now I can rival stmaverick and easy man. Hahahaha!
- Law can lead to journalism.
- If I ever get sued for blogging I could defend myself quite well as a lawyer. This means with good counsel such as Mr Malik Imtiaz, the chances of winning is high. I do of course pray that I never get sued.
- Human rights lawyers defend human rights the best. If I would want to champion multiple causes, human rights comes into the fray.
- I want to contribute to society as a legal eagle not a technology nerd.
